Optical 3D animation and the launch of Despicable Me 2
Optical 3D were approached by Team Production Limited to supply a 3D animation and still renders of their latest airship for Universal Pictures.
The Hampshire based company got in touch with Optical 3D when they needed accurate 3D “fly arounds” producing to show the seamless graphic mapping applied on two different airship models.
These and several elevational renders were then submitted to Universal Studios for proofing before the graphics were applied to the real airships.
The “Despicablimp” is now on tour in the skies over the US.
